I'm available for online counselling (e.g., via Skype)

Please email if you're interested in further information or book a session.

Skype counselling is suitable if:

  • You are experiencing mild issues such as anxiety, general life stress, or work stress
  • You are looking for pregnancy or parent coaching
  • You are looking for general wellness strategies using Mindfulness or Positive Psychology
  • You are looking for a debrief about birth, pregnancy issues or similar
  • You're a previous client wanting to catch up (though please note Medicare currently doesn't cover online therapy)
  • You have a young baby/babies at home and need to stay close, or just need to stay in your PJs and not face the world!
  • You are a shift worker or only get a minute to yourself when the kids are in bed, after hours
  • You live remotely
  • You have an illness, injury or disability which makes it difficult to get out and about

Skype counselling is not suitable if:

  • You want a Medicare rebate for sessions
  • You are unable to ensure privacy at home or work
  • You are in current crisis - please contact the 24 hour Crisis counselling Service LifeLine on 13 1114.
  • You are under 18 years of age, or you are looking for services for your child
  • You are experiencing domestic violence
  • You are struggling with moderate to severe depression, self harm and/or suicidal ideation
  • You are struggling with drugs and alcohol
  • You have been diagnosed with personality disorder, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia spectrum disorders, or psychosis

Please feel free to email if you'd like to discuss your needs before booking.

Booking an online counselling session means that you understand your session could be terminated and alternative referral made if needed.

Payment is made at the time of booking. Please check with your private health company before booking if you want to ensure a rebate, and to confirm how much they will cover.

Preparing for your session

1. Install Skype

Skype is an application software that provides video chat and voice calls from computers and mobile devices. Skype is free of adware/malware/spyware etc and is confidential.

If not already installed, go to www.skype.com and download the program to your or device and set up an account.

I will send you a contact request using the user name you have provided in your booking form. After the request has been accepted, simply answer the call in the application.

For additional help with Skype, go to https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA11098/getting-started-with-skype-windows-desktop

2. Ensure you have the right time. Clients are responsible for making sure they 'arrive' on Melbourne time

3. Test your audio and video settings. It's recommended that you use a headset for best quality

4. Ensure your space is private, your phone is on silent, and you have any thoughts you want to discuss jotted down. It's recommended that you have someone else at home to occupy young children during a day session so you're not interrupted.
